Dough Art Candle

Dough Art Candle Holder:
- Salt dough
- Acrylic colors red, yellow and green
- Straight pin, any size candle, and dried red baby's
breath (any color can be painted red)
Shape your dough either the same size
of the patterns, larger or smaller depending upon the size you desire
for your project.

- Roll a ball of bright red dough your desired width
and about 3/4" to 1" high.
- Slightly flatten the ball and smooth into the shape
shown in the illustration.
- Insert your candle into the center of the dough about
1/2" deep. Withdraw the candle and set aside.
- Shape 5 or 6 holly leaves and fuse one over the other
as shown
in the illustration covering half of the top surface of the dough.
- Roll 3 tiny red dough balls and fuse to the top of
each leaf. You can also use yellow for more color.
- Let air-dry for 3 or 4 hours and then bake until hard
at 225 degrees.
- When hard, glue flowers over the half of the dough
without
leaves on the top and side areas. Do not glue flowers where
candle
will be inserted.

Make your dough art candle holder in different colors or give it a more
contemporary look. The leaves can also be a pale green with
darker green splashes of paint in the center for a contrast.
There is really no end to what you can do. And you don't have
to keep this a Christmas project. It can be changed to
